Hunt Story
With the temperature drop of 10 degrees I knew I had to get in the woods for a short hunt before work. I had my eye on a couple of bucks from my deer cameras and thought my chances were better with the change in temperature. As 9:30 a.m. approached, I'd only seen a few deer so I had decided to head out. I gathered a couple of things and pulled my face mask down only to look up and see one of the bucks I’ve had my eye on for weeks! Yep...there he stood broad side, 50 yards in front of me eating acorns. I eased my scope up to confirm he was one of the ones I'd had my eye on and he sure was. I pulled the trigger and made myself wait about 5 minutes to retrieve him. Any day in the woods is a good day, even if you only have a couple of hours. As my hunting partner, Harold Hughes says, "It's all about TOS (Time on the stand)."
