Hunt Story

I’ve had this deer on camera the last few weeks coming to a feed site in a hardwood strip between two pine thickets. He had been making a few daylight appearances, so I knew if the conditions were right and I had a good wind, there was a chance. Sure enough, around 5:10 I saw him easing down the bottom, taking his time. He came into my window at 37 yards, taking my time I let it fly, and shot over him. I was sick! But, turns out he wasn’t spooked, and he ended up coming back in a few yards closer, and I smoked him in the wheel house! He only ran about 50 yards and fell in the creek. Shout out to my neighbor Alan Arrington on adjacent property where this deer lived during summer/early season. We were both after him, but he favored our side during the rut. The velvet pic is from him over the summer.
