Hunt Story
I went to a stand and realized there was no chair and the sun was wrong for the hunt. I relocated to another stand that was in the shadows. Ten minutes later a tall 9-pointer stepped out at 125 yards. Then he walked away from me. I made a doe bleet sound. He turned to look for the sound at about 150 yards and offered a broadside shot. I leveled the crosshairs and squeezed the trigger. A ball of smoke enveloped me for a few seconds. As my vision cleared, I saw him fall into the woodline. The 9-pointer had a 13-inch G2 and grossed 147 inches B&C. I am co-president of Twin Beams Trophy club in Dooly County. We have been intensely trophy managed for over 15 years. We had a member shoot in the finals for the Truck-Buck. This is our second entry this year for the contest! We had several members let this 9-pointer walk last year, proving how hard work and dedication to trophy management program pays off!
