Hunt Story

It was Sunday November 22, 2015, and I was late getting into the stand. I climbed into my stand at around 4:30 pm. It was pretty windy. I was hunting a 20-acre field. It’s mostly weeds with two food plots planted in oats. I was worried that I may not see much as the wind was blowing in the direction I normally see deer. I settled in to hunt. It was approximately 5:10 pm when I looked behind me across a rail road track into a hay field that’s also a part of my property. I saw a big bodied deer. I pulled up my gun, and upon looking through my scope I realized it was a pretty good buck. I was unable to get a clean shot before I lost sight of him. I kept my focus on the rail road bank hoping he would find his way to my field. About 10 minutes later I observed a doe about 200 yards from my stand coming out of the rail road. She came out into one of my food plots. She was feeding around when I saw the buck step out of the rail road. He was hiding behind some china berry trees, so I waited until he stepped out into the field. I shot him around 5:20 pm, and he fell right where he stood.
