Hunt Story
Started hunt before sun up and witnessed a lot of doe movement that morning. They didn’t do a lot of eating in our plot but moved through. Had been seeing a lot of pressure from smaller bucks this weekend. This seven point presented himself on the top right portion of the hill I was hunting. Proceeded to take a trail behind my stand. I was able to get him in my scope it was one of those that didn’t warrant binoculars knew if he presented me an opportunity I would take it. He slowly worked his way behind me in the pines stopping strategically behind every tree or barrier to not allow for shot. I decided to go ahead and get ahead of him and stabilize a shot on the trail I walked in on knowing it was open enough that maybe he might pause. Sure enough he stepped into opening and took one pause and look for does. Allowed me just enough time to grab a clean shot as he was taking his next step. He ran down towards a dry creek bed down from my stand were I picked up on his final steps. Thankful to God for a clean harvest. It was an amazing hunt.
