Hunt Story

I took my climber and my rifle into a section of the property that I have not previously hunted. I scouted my way in and found a lot of deer sign; an active creek crossing, rubs, scrapes, tracks, and plenty of acorns. I settled in my climber and did several rattling sequences and hit my grunt call. A few minutes later I heard and saw two does passing about 60 yards behind my tree, they kept walking into a pine thicket and I lost sight. About 60 seconds later I heard footsteps running and figured it may be a buck chasing so I got my gun into position in the small opening the does came through. I saw a large body and could tell there were decent horns, so I found the next opening and lined up my shot. At the shot he mule kicked and ran about 40 yards and expired. I climbed down and from the base of my tree I could see a white belly, I Facetimed by wife and children so they could be a part of the recovery. He was a mainframe 8 with split brow tines and weighed 213 pounds. My biggest buck to date.
