Hunt Story
I first got pictures of this buck back in July. I had him at 10 yards once in September, but he was with a group of Does and I couldn’t get drawed back before he got nervous and ran off. He cruised by at 30 yards the next day, but the same does were acting nervous and he never stopped. In October he walked right up to my tree 30 minutes before daylight. He hung around about 20 minutes basking in the moonlight before heading across the road to his bed on the neighboring property. I felt that the morning of November 3 was a good morning. I got in my stand about 30 minutes before daylight. About as soon as it got daylight he came cruising into my food plot at 25 yards out. He put his head down to eat, and I stood up. He never moved, so I drew back and put the pin on his ribs. As soon as I released I heard that incredible sound of my arrow hitting its mark. He immediately bolted toward his bed across the road. I waited about 45 minutes before climbing down and looking for him. Luckily he only made it to the fence at the road.
