Hunt Story
I had been hunting a main food source on the property of white oak acorns for a couple of weeks. I had a trail camera in the area but had only been getting a few pictures. I checked the camera the previous Tuesday and only had a few pictures. I checked it again on Saturday morning and had more pictures between Tuesday and Saturday than I had captured in 2 weeks. This buck was on the camera one time and I could not determine how big he was. I decided to hunt the stand on Sunday mid-day with slow movement, and then decided to hunt it again Monday morning. Around 7:20 AM, I had a doe in front of me and I heard him coming in. He stayed in a thicket, feeding on the white oak acorns for several minutes, made a paw mark, then decided to head out on a different trail than he came in on that led straight to a shooting lane. When he got into the shooting lane, I stopped him at 30 yards and shot. He ran approximately 50 yards.
