Hunt Story

My dad picked me and a friend up after school and drove us to the hunting area. We all got in our stands about 5:00. It was getting close to dark. I had not seen anything but squirrels. My dad texted and said he would be getting done soon and he would come get me on the way out. Then we would get my friend. That is when I saw movement to my left. A deer had walked into the food plot. I could see it was a buck. I got my crossbow and put the crosshairs on his shoulder. Then I squeezed the trigger. The deer went running through the woods. I felt like I had hit him. I texted my dad and told him I had shot. He told me to wait in the stand till he got there. When I got out of the stand we followed a blood trail right to him. I was so excited to have killed the deer.
