Hunt Story
After seeing no deer that morning big enough to shoot, we returned to the hunt club that afternoon and were in the blind about 4:30 pm. No more than 15 minutes later, a small 8-point entered the plot. Mason and his grandfather looked him over well, and decided he was too small, but were excited to see deer moving in the daylight. No more than 15 minutes later, the big 9 came into the plot from the opposite direction than did the young deer. After a brief bite or two of the greens, the big buck began to walk out of the plot. Mason was already up on the sticks and ready to shoot. A loud bleat from his Pap stopped the deer, and Mason made a one shot kill at 135 yards. The big buck dropped in his tracks.
