Hunt Story

I had seen this buck on our trail cameras but only at night. On the morning of November 21st, I watched a group of six does and one button buck grazing at 20-25 yards. A 6-point buck came in, clearly interested in the does. One doe sprinkled some pee, seemingly interested, but the button buck was like an annoying little brother, running circles around the buck and jumping around. Finally the whole group left with the buck trailing them. About 30 minutes later, this 8-point walked in and followed his nose to the spot where the doe had sprinkled. He turned and started to go that direction so I did a short grunt. He immediately stopped and started walking toward me. He got within 20 yards when he turned and gave me a broadside shot. I was so excited because this is the first buck I’ve gotten with my bow! His right G3 was broken, but had been whole only two days prior, when he showed up on the trail camera.
