I had never hunted Alapaha River WMA prior to this hunt. My Dad and I went the day before to scout and found what looked to be a good area—planted pines with decent undergrowth that the deer felt comfortable in. A hunter close to me shot two deer and drug them out soon after daylight. This deer came walking through by himself on a trail through the pines. I had to stop him and one shot put him down right in his tracks.
