Hunt Story

I saw this buck for the first time last year, let him walk, and hoped he would be back this season. Sure enough he showed back up on the cameras this year during pre-season and I saw him multiple times feeding in my back yard. I got in my stand around 5 p.m. and sat for a few hours. It was an hour before shooting light was over and he stepped out of the woods 10 yards away from me. I let him walk right under my stand to the trough behind me. I watched him eat for about 20 minutes and finally he turned broad side so I took my shot at 15 yards. He ran about 40 yards through the woods into a field before I lost sight of him so I waited it out until dark. As I walked back up to my house, I saw him laying to my left about 20 yards away and I knew I had gotten him. It was time to celebrate.
