Hunt Story
Hunting a climber on a hardwood ridge overlooking a bottom, the buck come trotting in on the other side of the ridge in some short thick trees. As it got just past me on the other side, he came down into the bottom and starting up the ridge that I was on out in front of me. I had a clear shot so I took it. He ran about 20 yards up the ridge, and I was able to shoot again when he just stopped for a second. He then took off again and I was sure I hit him both times, so I took one more shot not wanting to let this one get away as this was the biggest buck I've seen and would be the first to get mounted for me. The third shot also connected and he fell about 10 yards away. He is a main frame 8 with 2 good kickers off the back. Thank goodness for holding out on the smaller bucks for one that I will never forget.
