Hunt Story
Got to the stand about 5:20 pm. and sat there for 10 minutes. Lily saw the deer first and said, "There is a deer looking right at us." A few seconds later, I saw the deer as he was jumping the fence into the food plot, and he started eating. I gave Lily the gun and told her to wait until he turned to the side, to take her time, and not to rush because he was not going anywhere. I looked at him with the binos and said he was a good one for her to shoot. Lily said she was about to shoot, and all I heard was a loud click. I had forgot to put one in the chamber. So I eased a bullet into the chamber and told her it was ready. She shot and hit him just right. He ran about 50 yards and fell dead. I was one proud daddy.
