Hunt Story
Lily Cauley of Lyons GA killed her first deer in the Ohoopee Community of Toombs County on October 19. She is 7 years old and has been going hunting with her parents since she was two. She has been carrying her own gun for the past two years, and all that hard work finally paid off. She shot this deer over a food plot while hunting with her Mom. We walked to the deer blind around 5:30. The buck came out from behind us around 6:30. Lily saw him first. I did not see him. She told me, "look Mama, there's a buck." I thought she was playing, but sure enough I saw him step into my line of vision. She shouldered her rifle, and I was sitting to her left. I held the forearm of the gun steady for her and she took aim and fired. The buck fell in its tracks.
