Hunt Story
We have been seeing some beautiful deer all summer, and the trail cams were full of pictures of amazing animals. The size and diversity of the deer population in GA is impressive - you only have to look at the deer registered for this year's Truck Buck to agree. After passing on several smaller bucks since the season opener, I saw this nice 9-point and another nice buck coming down the ridge towards my stand and the miniature food plot. The bucks ran off a couple of does and their fawns so they could grab a snack at the mini-mart on their way through. I drew my bow and took a 15-yard shot. The buck dropped within sight of my stand. This is only the second deer I have shot with the Rage mechanical broadheads, but I am impressed with the results. The "drop within sight" performance is very important when hunting suburban deer. Harvesting a big 9-point on Saturday was only surpassed by getting to see and hold my new grandson on Sunday. Some weekends are just AWESOME.
