Hunt Story

Saturday morning I started out hunting a logging road, by 8 am I was ready to move. I moved to a tripod about 350 yards away. The tripod is set up in a hardwood bottom near a small creek. Around 9 am I heard a loud noise that sounded like antlers clashing and a heard what sounded like thrashing. I turned all the way around, adjusted my scope and got in position to shoot. A nice buck came trotting within view. I made a noise "Baaaaa" and he stopped broadside and turned his head in my direction. I put my crosshair behind his shoulder and fired. While the smoke was settling, I could somewhat see the direction he run, but I could hear him breaking brush and sticks as he went, then it was quiet. I was shaking as I reloaded. Then texted my husband, and told him what happened. I waited for him to come assist before we started tracking. The buck ran about 60 yards and was dead. It was awesome!!!
