Hunt Story

0n the morning of November 4th, I woke up tired from a week of hard hunting and work. I contemplated sleeping in, but for the last two years November 4th has been a day of excitement in the deer woods for me. I made my way to the truck on the phone with my buddy Kyle Smith who was running a few minutes late as well. I reached my stand about 6:25, climbed up for another beautiful day in the Georgia deer woods. Around 8:30 a couple does came by, then another at 9:00. I had a good feeling about Nov. 4th. Kyle and I were in this old buck's house. We had only a couple trail-cam pictures of this old buck, a little time, and a favorable wind. We were only a couple hundred yards away from each other with high expectations. At 9:34 the old buck stepped into the only opening I could shoot across a little ditch. He was only about 50 yards away and the rest is history. The third mature buck in three years on the morning of November 4th. I'm not at all superstitious, but you will probably find me in the deer woods on November 4th for years to come. Thank God for the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors.
