Hunt Story
Lane had been after this deer all season and has had two encounters with him during bow season. He wanted to take his bow, but I told him the wind was wrong for that stand and told him he needed to hunt with rifle. He couldn't make his mind up where to hunt, so I narrowed it down to two stands. He finally made his mind up when we were coming through gate. He had passed a small 8-point, and 10 minutes later this big 8 came down lane chasing a doe. He shot him high shoulder and dropped him. He shot 2 more times but didn't touch the deer. All he could say was, "I wasn't gonna stop shooting until he quit kicking." LOL! He is one of the most patient kids I know when it comes to hunting and deserves a deer of this caliber.
