Hunt Story
I hunted this stand twice recently prior to this hunt and had seen several small bucks and does during these hunts. A couple of these small bucks were grunting with their nose to the ground. On the hunt just prior to this one, I had a big buck chase a doe by me, but they were running too fast and there were too many trees to get a decent shot. On this hunt, I had only been in the stand about 10 minutes when four does came from behind me and were feeding on acorns. About 10 minutes after they went out of sight, I saw a doe walking fast down the trail in front of me, and this buck was behind her. He presented a shot at approximately 50 yards, and I dropped him in his tracks.
