Hunt Story

After arriving at my stand an hour before sunrise and getting settled, I heard sounds of deer moving in a thicket behind me. Legal shooting hours began at 6:30 a.m., and by then the noises had pretty much stopped. At about 6:50 a.m. I heard the unmistakable sounds of a deer just slowly walking, and I caught just a brief glimpse of a deer body in the brush. It was thick and big and felt it was a buck. Around 7:15 he stepped from the thicket out into the hardwoods my stand was in. I was ready and took my shot. He jumped and ran about 60 yards and went down in a washed out gully in the hardwoods. I knew as he ran off he was a wide racked buck i had been getting on my trail camera.
