Hunt Story
The previous afternoon, I checked my stand area for signs of recent activity, and I smelled a strong odor of both rutting buck and bedding deer. On the morning of 11/18, I heard grunting and breaking branches directly in front of stand. Although I could not see any action from my stand, I had been lightly grunting earlier each time the wind died down. Shortly, I heard grunting again to the left, and about 10 minutes later the buck pops out on the trail leading up a hill. I dropped the buck in his tracks at 130 yards. The rack was much wider than I had anticipated as I walked up on the kill.
