Hunt Story
My son started getting pictures of this deer during bow season. We had gotten a picture of him leaving the bean field at 6 am on Friday morning, so we repositioned a stand in the area. That afternoon I sat in that stand, and my son was on the other side of the field. The buck stepped out from some planted pines and into the soybean field. He was at 100 yards when I squeezed the trigger on my muzzleloader. He ran off into the planted pines. I called my son and told him I had just shot the biggest buck that I had ever seen. My son came and got me out of the stand, and we went to look for the buck. My son looked for the buck for over an hour and never found a blood trail. We were fixing to call for a dog when my son found him about 100 yards away. The buck had a 21-inch inside spread and weighed 230 pounds.
