Hunt Story

I was hunting on the ground in planted pines. I was where I could see a long open strip both ways. I put some doe estrous in two scrapes one to my right and one to my left. The wind was out of the south, the scrapes were on the east and west side of me, so anything checking them couldn’t smell me. I heard two bucks start fighting about 5. They were going at it pretty good till bout 5:30. Sounded like two pieces of pvc pipe hitting together. I looked down the lane to my left and saw him coming at a angle about 175 yards towards the scrape. I didn’t have time to get my shooting stick up. I swung and got on him quickly and fired. He just flinched and bounded off in the pines. I was breaking in my nephew's 6.5 Creedmoor for him lol. I thought I missed. Went and looked for blood nothing. I am use to that .270 they usually mule kick once and run about 50 yards pouring blood. I circled in the pines and found him about 60 yards piled up. He didn’t bleed a drop. Bullet didn’t go through him probably the angle or something. Only thing he had in mind looked like to me was getting to that fight.
