Hunt Story

Still can’t believe how this unfolded with this deer. Got a trail-cam pic of him at 12:30 p.m. on Monday 11/2/2020. Decided to hunt all day Tuesday 11/3/2020. Never saw him, but I saw a lot of deer between 10-1. Went back in on Wednesday morning and around 10:00 a.m. that’s when the deer started moving again. I saw four younger bucks and some were chasing does. At 11:00 a.m. this guy came walking straight down the middle of the creek. It was so thick that you couldn’t make out what it he was, but he sounded like a puppy that was learning how to swim coming through the water. When he came out of the creek and started my way, that’s when I could see what he was. There was a spike standing in front of me and he had this deer pegged the entire time, not taking his eyes off of him. When the buck came out of the thicket, the little spike decided he need to move along. The buck came 10-12 yards from the tree that I was in. I thank the good Lord for allowing me the opportunity to harvest such a nice deer. I also have to thank my wife for allowing me to hunt as much as I do. I absolutely love being in the woods! The Lord is good!
