Hunt Story

I just turned 16 a few months ago and have been so excited about hunting our new family property, especially after seeing some of the trail cameras pictures we have gotten over the last few months! I had been out of town for a few days, knowing that the rut was in full swing, and I couldn't wait to get back and get in a tree! I thought that I had really blown it by leaving my safety harness at the house, so I rushed back after getting it as quick as I could, trying my best not to get sweaty! I actually rubbed my cover scent wafer all over to try to help the situation! My dad had recently mowed and planted a new plot in our planted pines, giving the deer a perfect path to walk. We had been seeing lots of deer during our previous hunts, and dad kept saying that passing the "good" bucks would pay off sometime. And did it! This guy came in around 4:20 trailing a doe. I actually took 3 videos of the deer and sent them to my dad to make sure that he was a shooter. At first I thought that it was one of the 8-pointers that we had seen around our property. I was so nervous when dad finally texted back and said "Take him!" The buck was so concerned about his girl that he came in to less than 25 yards from my stand! One shot from my 6.5 Creedmoor put him down quickly. Mom and dad actually heard me shoot and came as quick as they could to celebrate with me. My first whitetail buck!! Now what do I do??
