My Son Kase and I arrived at our family farm around 4:30 p.m. We jumped a small buck and a very large buck bedded together on our way to the area that we were going to hunt. We noticed six does in the food plot so we just set up near a blow down so that we did not blow the deer out of the plot. The does fed off and about 5 minutes after we lost a visual on them we hear five low deep tending grunts coming from the area that the does had traveled. Three minutes later a doe stepped out and darted back into the thicket. The 8-pointer was behind her but for some reason walked directly to us. The buck stopped 60 yards in front of us and my son shot him directly in the heart. The buck ran maybe 70 yards and expired before getting out of the food plot.
