Hunt Story
I began getting pictures of this buck in 2019 and this year he developed into a nice, mature buck and became a primary target. I began getting pics of him again this summer, however he was strictly nocturnal. In fact, I only got one daylight picture of him all summer long. Luckily, I decided to hunt this stand the afternoon of 9/25, the evening he finally decided to show up during daylight hours. After about a 4-minute standoff, which felt like an eternity, with him facing toward me, he finally turned enough to offer a quartering to shot. I drew my bow, settled in, and let the arrow fly. The hit was a little back, so we let him lay for the night. The following morning, we found him bedded just 85 yards from the shot location, however he was still alive. Therefore, another arrow was knocked and it finished the harvest.
