Hunt Story

The hunt for this buck started back in mid bow season. My dad passed this buck at 15 yards because everyone was out of town and he didnt want to shoot him without sharing the experience with someone. We had spent our entire November in Kansas chasing midwest whitetails and returned home to find out that he had made it through the rut and was still hanging around. We had him on camera the morning prior to my hunt, so I had a good feeling he would still be in the area. I took off to the stand the afternoon of Dec 6th, and he came out and started to eat on some pin oak acorns. After about 20 minutes, he finally decided to cross the property line to come feed in our food plot. I made an 80-yard shot and he ran about 60 yards. This is the first buck I've killed on my parents land after hunting the property for 16 years.
