Hunt Story
On Monday morning, October 19th, I was hunting with my husband. We walked about 500 yards before I went into the pines to my stand and he continued to his stand near the swamp. We had set up my ground blind in planted pines for an east wind, and it was perfect for this morning’s hunt. As soon as I sat down and looked through the binoculars, I saw a form that I thought was a doe. As the sun came up I was able to see it was a nice buck! When I put my gun up, a small spike stepped in front of the buck. I had to watch them for about 20 minutes, trying to keep my cool and waiting for a clear shot. FINALLY I got to take a shot with my Thompson Pro Hunter 7 mm mag and I dropped the big buck in his tracks!
