Hunt Story
Hunting out my climber on a mountaintop with a laurel thicket edge, I heard deer moving but could not see them starting around 0800. I was using my grunt call and can call every 20 minutes or so. I did hear a grunting a few times. A few minutes before 0840 I heard a deer walking in from behind me. I didn’t see the deer until he walked directly under me. Once he got about 15 yards past he presented a shot and I dropped him where he stood with my 308.
