Hunt Story

I took my 8-year-old son hunting on Friday afternoon after he got home from school. We sat in the stand for two hours and never saw a deer. We were about to get down, and we saw a buck walk out of the woods about 150 yards away. I felt the deer was too far away for him to attempt a shot, so we waited and watched the deer eat acorns for about 10 minutes. With only a few minutes of shooting light left, the deer walked within 120 yards of our stand, and my son took the shot. The deer ran about 30 yards and went down. This is my son's first buck, and he was so excited. The buck turned out to be a 235-pound 10-point Dooly County buck. My son loves hunting and this was his first buck, and a memory that neither of us will ever forget.
