Hunt Story
As I woke up on the day of November 8, 2015, it was a messy, rainy but yet windy morning. I thought to myself whether to hunt a tree stand where I have observed many scrapes and rubs near a food source or to hunt the ground blind over the food plot. All I knew I could do was to pray about it and listen to my heart. As I finished coffee with my father early morning, we then discussed where we were going to set up and hunt. We knew the big buck was in the area due to the many trail cam pictures we have received of him in the prior weeks leading up to now. As I was through the woods to the gas line, I put out some Harmons' Triple Heat doe estrous. Shortly after I noticed a big bodied deer crossing the gas line in the food plot just below the blind. He has his head out, and I pulled my rifle up and realized it was the big buck we have been seeing on the trail cam. I quickly pulled the trigger and dropped him in his tracks. I was beyond excitement and naturally screamed out with joy and happiness, "I got it!!" It was the biggest buck I have ever taken down, and I am very proud of it. It comes to show the time and effort you put into hunting a deer will pay off.
