Hunt Story
I was hunting in the woods, 75 yards off of a food plot. I was hoping to catch a buck checking out the food plot for does from the woods. I heard a few steps in the leaves, and so I turned to check out the source of the sound. When I looked to my left, I saw the buck coming out of a thicket, heading for a clearcut filled with dog fennels. I knew the buck was a shooter immediately. The buck paused for just a moment and put his nose to the ground. I had a small window opening in the trees that provided a shot at his neck. I pulled the trigger, and the buck dropped in his tracks.
