Hunt Story

After many trail-camera pictures throughout the season, I decided to hunt a hardwood ridge on a family owned piece of property for the first time in DeKalb County. The first two hours of the hunt were quite and still. At around 4 p.m. I spotted a buck that had previously been on camera at 100 yards up the ridge from my stand. After making two scrapes on the ridge, the buck began to creep closer downhill to my stand. Around 10 minutes had past before the buck came into an opening at 40 yards. The buck then traveled a little further uphill to around 45-50 yards, and I drew my bow back for a shot. Thanks to my Lumenoc I got to watch my arrow fly right toward my target hitting it in the sweet spot! The arrow did not pass through the buck so I watch run off with my arrow sticking halfway out of him. At 4:45 p.m. I decided to climb down from my stand and being confident with my shot I went to the area I last saw him run to. Once there I saw him laying another 50 yards away! I could not be more thankful to have the chance to harvest such a beautiful buck! My biggest recovered kill to date with a bow or rifle!
