Hunt Story
I got one picture of this deer before the season and then no more until about 3-4 days before I killed him on December 3rd. I was hunting a mature stand of pines and hardwoods with privet thickets growing beneath. I climbed into my lock on tree stand around 4:00pm. It only seemed like a few minutes after I got settled in I heard deer coming in. I got only glimpses of them through the thicket, but I saw enough to recognize that one of the deer was the big 9 that I was after. Suddenly he appeared at 20yds and as soon as he stopped I let my arrow go. My 2.3" Rage extreme hit it's mark behind the shoulder and I immediately saw blood running down his side. He stopped at about 30yds and started stumbling and then crashed within eyesight at about 40 yds.
