Hunter: Joey Dobbs

This was the first hunt on a ladder stand that was put up just a few days earlier. There were 2 or 3 shooter bucks in the area that I had trail-cam pictures of. I climbed in the stand as it was beginning to get daylight. Only about 30 minutes into the hunt I heard a stick break to my left, and I saw him on a bush hog trail about 30 yards away. I think he saw me ease my crossbow around, and he turned to his right and started to move down wind. I grunted with my mouth to stop him and made a good double lung shot on him with a Rage broadhead. He tore off and it got silent. I eased down and found lots of blood so I started tracking. He ran around 100 yards to where he fell dead.
