Hunt Story

I climbed a tree with my climber at 4 p.m. 65 yards from where I had been putting corn out twice a week for about 3 weeks. I didn't see anything until about 7 p.m. 3 bucks and a doe walked in a single file line to my corn. It was two 8-points and a 10-point. I shot at the 10-point after they had settled down and started eating. I missed him completely. All the deer ran off and 15 minutes later the bigger 8-point came back out to the corn. I shot him at 65 yards (I had been practicing at that distance and hitting very good). He moved before the arrow arrived, and I hit him in the hind quarter. He bolted into the clear-cut. A little while later, the other 8-point came out to the corn and started eating. The 10-point came back out also, but this time he stayed back away from the corn and came into range at 35 yards. I shot him and hit him good behind the shoulder. I heard him crash in the clear-cut. The 10-point I recovered immediately. He ran about 100 yards. The 8-point I recovered 5 hours later. He only went about 60-70 yards.
