We started watching this deer five years ago actively began hunting him three years ago. Had only encountered him in the daylight two times prior to last week, but he had dropped one side of his rack early and both times, so my daughter opted not to shoot him without both sides. My wife helped me move a stand Saturday about lunch she went to run errands and I went to the woods and sat the stand that we had just moved for the north wind. I took both my bow & crossbow in case he hung up out of bow range, which proved to be a good decision because he did that very thing.
