First afternoon hunt on my farm in Troup County proved to successful. I decided not to hunt earlier in the season due to warm weather. Having trail cam pictures on October 23 of my target buck gave me some insight as to where to hunt. I positioned myself between two hardwood bottoms on a small food plot. At 6:30 the buck started across the food plot at a rapid pace. I only had about 15 seconds to shoot. Making a high shoulder shot at 100 yards dropped the big buck in his tracks. This is the biggest body deer I have ever taken in forty years of hunting. The deer field dressed at 225 pounds.
