Hunt Story
I had been hunting this deer all season since first seeing him in December of last year. My wife found his right side shed last year in March. We had photos of him all year long, but in September he disappeared until the week of Thanksgiving and was giving us daylight pictures. I went in about 3:00 PM and fed the area because I had figured out he was bedded close and had me patterned. I would feed him on Sundays after I would hunt then head home. I decided to throw a Hail Mary and do everything wrong since doing everything right was not working. I went in to the area at 3 and poured out a bag of feed making lots of noise then parked my truck in a different spot. I walked back in for a different direction from the usual route and got in the stand about 3:30. It fooled the deer and he showed up in the last few minutes of good shooting light after a bunch of does and a 2-year-old buck. Sometimes they pattern you and you have to change it up! In this case it worked out according to plan.
