Hunt Story
Got settled in my stand around 3:30 pm. After about 20 minutes past I hit my doe bleat can followed by my grunt call. A few minutes later I heard a snort wheeze behind me. I turned around and could see a deer walking along the creek bank. He stopped about 30 yards away to make a tree rub which gave me time to get my rifle positioned for a shot. When I shot, he jumped down the creek embankment and ran. After I gave him 30 minutes to expire, I climbed down to look for signs of a hit. He didn’t run but about 20 yards before crashing. 6.5 Grendel, 123 grain Hornady SST done the job.
