Hunt Story

Went hunting in open hardwoods, saw no deer. Evening hunt went to a white oak tree dropping acorns. About 6:30 p.m. a small doe came of a thicket close to the tree feeding on acorns. I was watching her, then looked around to my right and back to the left. There, out of nowhere, was a large body deer with heavy horns. Wow, I said to myself, got to take this one. I eased up my muzzleloader, backed hammer, and shot the deer. He broke and ran about 50 yards and crashed. I got down and tracked the deer. Was very pleased with size, over 200 pounds live weight at the processor!
