Hunt Story

Earlier this year, I planted an acre and a half of oats, wheat, daikon radish and purple top turnips in a brand new spot. I was hoping to draw in a specific deer for my daughter that she had her heart set on the entire 2016 season. During the rut that buck showed up on a camera close to a mile away and she was blessed to take him 2 days later. Fast forward a couple months and I had a ghost Buck that we've had pictures of for years show up on the new food plot. We had named him Slopes years ago because he had big swooping main beams that curved up like ski slopes. I kept getting consistent pictures of him there and decided to go after him on a whim with a rare winter storm bearing down on us. The most nocturnal buck I've ever dealt with decided to get on his feet in the extreme weather conditions and I made the most of the shot. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to harvest this 8+ year old ghost.
