Hunt Story
He made his first appearance on trail camera during the day on Nov 16th. He was really run down, gut sunk in. Then at 9:45 on the 22nd he made another appearance, tending a doe. Looking at the game forecast the next movement spike was at 2:00 p.m. the same day. I rushed home and got my stuff, hoping they bedded close and that she would bring him in again before nightfall. She came in at 2:30 p.m. and fed for 15 minutes or so. She was dead downwind, so I had all the windows in my Booner Blind up. Hand on the latch. When she finished eating and was walking off, he came out of the thicket and was growling at her. She stopped and he came out to feed. When I opened the window, my sling scratched the window and he stopped and looked dead at me. It was now or never. I dropped him with a quartering to, front shoulder shot. He never made another move. I was an emotional wreck. Been a while since I have had buck fever that bad. I called my wife first. then my Dad, then my son, then my long-time Hunting Buddy Tracey who helped me get the deer loaded on my side by side.
