Hunt Story

My friend (Bubba) and I set out to hunt together to try and get some footage of a good hunt. At last minute I changed my mind and went to what we call pawpaws stand. An old wooden ladder stand that has fallen now. I set up in the bottom close to the stand. At around 5:15 pm I noticed movement across the creek. He wasn't wasting much time coming as I had been using a doe bleat on my Knight & Hale grunt call. As he came across creek, I realized which deer he was and immediately knew he was the one I wanted. Sitting on ground with my back to a big white oak, I waited until he got within 20 yards and shot. I hit him perfectly behind the shoulder. He ran around 40 yds across the open bottom and stopped turned around and looked back as if he was saying what was that. After showing no sign of going down. I put another one in him. He dropped right there, I then got up walked over to him, kneeled down and said a prayer. This hunt will stay with me forever since he walked out within 20 yards of my pawpaws stand.
