Hunt Story
Friday morning I decided to go hunting before going to work at 8 a.m. At daybreak, a small 6-pointer came cruising in with nose to the ground, and then I spotted a doe that I had not seen, and his chase was on. Two more does came walking through 15 minutes later and disappeared into the woods. Leaves and twigs crackling, breaking to my right, I glanced over to notice a buck. Realizing he was a shooter my adrenaline took over, heart pounding, shaking, and heavy breathing. I raised my rifle to take aim just as my scope fogged up from my heavy breathing. I watched the monster walk away in the sagebrush, knowing I would never see him again. After 15 minutes had passed, I began a series of grunt calls. Shortly after, I heard something walking back through the same area, the monster had come back. Most hunters know that a second chance at a once in a lifetime buck is unusual. When he presented me a kill shot, I took it without fogging up the scope. I tracked him at about 80 yards and there he laid. I looked to the heaven and thanked God of all creations for a great harvest!
