Hunt Story
I always put in for BF Grant because it’s my favorite place to hunt. I usually get to hunt there every two years with a single priority. I hunt the same area every time I go, and I am usually successful in taking a mature buck. So opening morning of the hunt and it was 9:30 a.m. and I hadn't seen a deer yet when I hear movement to my right, I glance over there and see a deer on the move. I swing around with my rifle and shoulder it to see what it is, when I see a big buck. I put the crosshairs behind the shoulder and squeeze the trigger. The deer just stood there, so I bolted another round and squeezed the trigger again and the buck took off. I get down and find good blood, he only ran about 20 yards from where I shot him.
