Hunt Story
I decided to go hunting at 6 p.m., but it started raining when I left the house. So, I sat in the truck until the rain got light. I got in my climbing stand at 6:45. I finally had the wind that I needed to hunt this location and this was my third attempt. For the last month, I only had him on camera during daylight hours on two different occasions and both times was in the evening. So I just felt like that with the weather change and the rain that had moved in that afternoon everything was lining up perfectly. We tried all last season to get my daughter on him with a rifle and just never got it put together. The deer is either 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 years old. He was an eight pointer. We have had pictures of him for several years. He was by far the heaviest deer I have ever harvested. He weighed 265 pounds. He was weighed at Blacks Deer Processing in Senoia, Georgia. He should gross between 125 and 130. I was proud to finally get him.
